Special class at Negracha - Creative crosses

In this class, we had a look at how we could use the axis to lead front crosses, back crosses and back cross sandwiches. Very playful additions to your repertoire of steps.

Dimension: Speed - Theme: Changes of speed & cadencias

In this class, we played with changes of speed. We applied it to the backward ochos by adding little rebounds to this simple step rhythmical and playful. We also focused on cadencias, these littles steps that play with the pendulum technique and that are just, so salón.

Dimension: Speed - Theme: The cross and its musicality

The cross is one of tango's emblematic steps. In this class, we started with a basic cross and then played with how the cross could look and feel with different musicalities and techniques, including that of the empujadita.

Dimension: Speed - Theme: Rhythmic orchestras

For this class, we looked at steps that would work for rhythmic orchestras or rhythmic sections of any tango. We started with variants of the change of weight in a box and then played with the giro and baby forward ochos.

Dimension: Speed - Theme: Melodic orchestras / Changes of front

In this class, we had a look at slow steps that would fit melodic orchestras or melodic sections of tango songs and we focused on the change of front - from a simple rebound to a giro in americana. In the beginners class, we saw a variation of the corte, to build on what we did last week.

Dimension: Speed - Theme: Melodic orchestras / Planeos

In this class, we had a look at slow steps that would fit melodic orchestras of melodic sections of tango songs and we focused on planeos, these romantic steps where one partner, normally the leader, draws a circle around the other dancer. These steps are very beautiful and we saw a couple of variants, from simple to more advanced.

Dimension: Speed - Theme: Speed fundamentals

In this class, we set out the basics of changing speed, e.g. going faster and slower, using side steps, the caminata and a simple change of lane, which lands itself beautifully to playful and musical variations.

Dimension: Embrace - Theme: Review

In this class, we reviewed some of the concepts we studied during the trimester. For the beginners and improvers, we focused on rebounds as well as americana and ochos. For the intermediates, we reviewed an arrastre, a cross/sandwich and a boleo.
