Taking place during one of France’s largest festivals (Tarbes en Tango), with its 29 milongas, live music, 80+ workshops, and tango orchestras incl. Hyperion, la Andariega and Sexteto Crystal, Tango Spleen and Sonder Tango amongst others, we organise an inspiring retreat filled with tango, nature, city breaks and discovery of the Occitanie region.
Welcome to the enchanting city of Tarbes in southern France, where the entire town is overtaken by tango during its famous August tango festival, with its afternoon outdoor dancing and the evening milongas where you will dance to the sounds of some of the most established tango orchestras. Imagine yourself sipping on a glass of local wine, enjoying the warm weather, the region’s fresh produce and exquisite food, and its sun-kissed landscapes, vibrant culture. » Morning: we make our way to mystical LOURDES – visit of town and hiking in its stunning nature, back to Tarbes early evening

» Morning: travel and visit of PAU followed by a visit to a local vineyard that will include wine tasting, picnic, and gentle hiking amongst the vines. Stop in GAN, back early evening
» Evening: indoor milonga with live orchestra Sexteto Crystal
Wednesday 21
» Morning: travel to and visit of TOULOUSE and its old town, bakery hunting tour, and Aerospace museum (time permitting). Back early evening.

» Afternoon: milonga hopping amongst three different locations (traveling by bus) and including dancing at the airport!

COSTS OF THE RETREAT
You have three options, depending on your preferences.
Package 1:
– 2 private workshops for the group (Bruno)

— Vineyard tasting and group hiking in the vineyards/countryside around Pau
— Toulouse city visit
— Lourdes city visit and hiking
– Apero (welcome drink)

PRICE package 1: £495pp (early bird until 31/05)
In this option, you book and pay for accommodation, individual evening milongas & Tarbes en Tango workshops yourself.
Package 2 includes package 1, plus:
– accommodation in excellent and centrally-located comfortable hotel, walking distance from the events – as double occupancy
PRICE package 2: £795pp (double occupancy, early bird until 31/05)
Supplement for single occupancy: £180
In this option, you pay for individual evening milongas & Tarbes en Tango workshops yourself
Package 3 includes packages 1 and 2, plus:
– evening milongas from Sat. to Thursday evening (with live orchestras)
PRICE package 3: £895pp (double occupancy, early bird until 31/05)
Supplement for single occupancy: £180

HOW TO FLY TO TARBES
We recommend to fly to Lourdes intl airport if you can, or arrive by your own means of transportation on Saturday.
If you are coming from the UK: Ryanair flies on 17/08 from London Stansted at 5:55 (we will be on that flight) and comes back on Friday 23/08 at 17:40. Lourdes is then only 15′ by taxi (Uber also available).
Other alternative: fly to Toulouse (1h30min by train to Tarbes), companies such as BA and others fly to Toulouse.
HOW TO REGISTER
Note that we will close registrations when we reach full capacity so we recommend you register early to avoid disappointment. To register to our Tango Retreat and guarantee your place you will need to:
– send us the application form below, and
– pay for a non-refundable deposit of £250 by transfer (contact us for bank details). The remainder is payable 4 weeks before the retreat.
