It’s quite usual for us ladies to close our eyes when dancing. It might sound (and feel) scary at first, but it increases the connexion with our partner and helps establish a better dialogue. With our eyes closed, it is possible to feel the music and the lead in a much more powerful way. In fact, the experience can become so intense that it is not unheard of to feel slightly disorientated after a tanda. So disorientated that we sometimes can’t remember where our seats are! For this reason, gentlemen in Buenos Aires always walk their partner back to their table – a lovely tradition grounded in practical sense!

To learn more about the etiquette of milongas, these parties that make tango so unique, have a look at our
Lost Chronicles, from Arthur.

And if you want to try it for yourself, why not check our group class schedule?

See you soon on the dance floor!
