STAGE is back! Lifts, sentadas, jumps and so much more. Dig into the stage tango universe, and learn relatively simple movements designed for shows (or for those who want to occasionally impress). We will go over Tango Escenario fundamentals, how to prepare yourself, and will show you safe classics to spice up your dance and shine on the floor. This is part I of II, both parts best enjoyed together but can be taken independently.

17/02/2021 Mastering Leaders and Followers Barridas, Part I, 90 min.

"How is that led?" Some Barridas (also called Arrastres) are sometimes so delicate and exquisite one can wonder what is the lead behind. Whilst most know the typical leaders barridas, they are also follower barridas, which seem to be even more floaty - almost diaphanous. Come and join us to discover some of these elegant and graceful movement, understand how to prepare for them and execute them flawlessly. For our first time EVER! Finally explore the fascinating world of stage tango, how it differs from Tango Salon, how and when to use it (safely). We will go over Tango Escenario fundamentals, how to prepare yourself, and will show you classics of Stage tango that will make your Auntie (or neighbour) go 'wow!'. Finally master these moments of acceleration and time shifts in tango songs! Double time and Syncopations moments can be tricky to unravel, as they necessitate planning and a hint of fearless execution. Learn the tricks and some beautiful examples of lead and adornos to interpret them when they come. An exhilarating session of challenge of fun. This week, learn all the secrets behind these feet and legs interactions, from patadas to tocadas (their softer version). Understand the dynamics behind these two fun movements, uncover the tips to keep your balance when using them, and apprehend when to use them - to make them part of your interpretation.
