Every Tuesday, we’ll publish a different tanda on our blog, to get you inspired for the week. Expect some humming or little twitches from your foot – better not fight it.

This week is a tango tanda by Enrique Rodriguez – the cheeky director who likes to drop the very last note of tangos, hence leaving most dancers hanging half way through their final move.

Rodriguez’ orchestra was quite innovative at the time: Rodriguez liked to play different kinds of music, not just tango, and he introduced instruments not usually seen on the tango scene. His tangos are well known for his simple and nice arrangements and his great singers.

El encopao

Don’t miss this performance by Murat and Michelle – whilst their style is quite nuevo and a bit of a departure from the tango salón artists we normally select, we thought their musicality was absolutely not to be missed. We especially adore their asynchronic steps and their strong connexion.

Have a look at this incredibly musical, improvised performance by Murat and Michelle.
