Cross inspired by Rosa & Carlos Perez
- Leaders: Slow down the follower’s cross by making sure you pass by the middle, with your weight on both legs.
- Followers: Try and pay attention to how quickly the leader wants you to cross, based on the speed of his transfer of weight and shoulder move.

- Leaders: You should do your back cross and change of weight with minimum motion at the chest level, to ensure the follower doesn’t move.
- Followers: Depending on the lead, you might find that you either wait one beat at neutral, or continuously walk on 2 beats.
Follower’s cross and uncross inspired by Osvaldo & Coca Cartery
- Leaders: To lead this, you need to use a “teapot” motion from the chest, first to make your partner cross, then uncross and change her weight. We suggest you start leading this sequence on the “normal” side of the cross.
- Followers: Try and keep your feet together at the cross, uncross and change of weight. If you cross or uncross with your feet too wide, this will make you change your position compared with your partner and you might find you are more likely to lose your balance.
- Leaders: Try and walk in a diagonal and not side to side. Also stay to the follower’s left side, even when you are walking to the right.
- Followers: Try and be sensitive to the changes of height so that you move up and down together with your partner.
