Every week, you’ll find on our blog class notes and a summary video from our Wednesday and Sunday tango group classes.
These video and notes are meant to help our students remember what they’ve done in class.
Beginners/Improvers: Soft change of front (180-degree and 360-degree)
- Both: When changing front, make sure you keep dissociated towards your partner. Walk with confidence, especially forward.
Intermediates & up: Backward steps with followers’ decorations
- Leaders: When you go back with the right foot, drop a bit and keep your left leg extended.
- Followers: Try and access how close you should step to your partner in order not to pull him off axis.
- Both: A lot of followers notoriously panic when they need to walk forward. Together, try and walk backwards for the leader and forward for the follower. Leaders, try and see how you can create space for your partner – by dissociating, and if in close embrace, by bringing your axis to the back of your body.
