Where is the festival happening and how can I get there?
Workshops will all be in Angel, North London, just a short tube ride from the Eurostar terminal and Kings Cross St Pancras station. Some milongas will be in Holborn, in central London. Check VENUES in the menu above for the address of all workshops and milongas. Click here for a map of London tube and overground. You can also take a look at the TRAVELLING TO LONDON page to read about how to best travel to and from London.
For information on where to stay, please refer to the ACCOMMODATION page where a few options are listed. Needless to say, you will need to check availability. London is a busy city and the festival is happening on a bank holiday weekend so we recommend you book as early as you can.
PLEASE NOTE: Friday and Saturday nights, the tube will run all night, on the Northern line, Piccadilly line, Central line, so you needn’t worry about staying late at the milonga. Check ‘Night tube TfL’ on Google for more information.
The FULL PROGRAMME page will give you a bird’s view of all activities. Workshops are planned all day during the day on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. There will be milongas every night of the festival: Friday (opening), Saturday, Sunday and Monday (closing).
Costs are on the PRICES page. We have a few packages and discounts available if you book early or take more than 3 workshops.
To ensure everyone has a pleasant experience during the festival, workshops have limited availability: places will be allocated on first come, first served basis. To avoid disappointment we recommend you book as early as possible. When a workshop is full, well… it’s full!
On the day, we will let you know if there is any space left for the different workshops. Packages and discounts will not be available at the door.
The website uses a Cart system, so you can pay for your workshops or milongas online. To check the Che London! Tango Festival programme and book, you can:
1. View the FULL PROGRAMME page and click on the “More info” button on the right of your chosen workshop, then click on individual or couple booking to add it to your cart.
2. Visit the BOOK NOW page to choose your workshops. To add a workshop to your Cart, simply click on the link next to the session, and book either as a leader, a follower or as a couple. To add more workshops, go back to the BOOK page and add another workshop to your cart.
Yes. We will fully refund bookings (minus Paypal or bank fees) up to one month before the event, i.e. until June 27 at midnight. Beyond this date, bookings will be strictly non refundable.
Paypal and online credit/debit card payments are available. If you have a UK bank account, you can also pay by direct bank transfer. We are sorry we cannot accept cheques or international transfers (due to the complexity and high bank charges associated). Please note that if you choose to pay by bank transfer, your booking will be validated and your space reserved only upon reception of payment.
We had a few cases of declined transactions. This has nothing to do with us – it could be your bank declining payment, or ours: often it is due to a typo, or if the browser took too long to respond. For some reason some US cards seem to be declined, and our bank does not know why (they said it might be due to strict international card payment approval).
If that happened and you find the money has left your account, please don’t worry: it will reappear automatically after 2 days. Our bank told us this is the minimum interbank time for charge-backs, and they cannot process it faster. In any case, please contact us so we can arrange another way for your booking payment.
Yes, although there will be very few slots available. Check the PRIVATE CLASS page for details.
Yes. If you can book with a dance partner, it is of course better as you’ll know who you’ll be dancing with, but if you cannot, please go ahead and book on your own, we will be happy to have you around and we will do everything we can to balance roles.
No, there will be no food or drink but the hall is just second away from a multitude of cafes, restaurants and shops, so you will not go hungry or thirsty very long. There is however a kitchen with water and tea bags available throughout the weekend. You will also find in front of the venue, a post office with a cash dispenser (ATM) if you need cash.
Parking is not always easy in Islington, so it is generally easier to come by tube, but if you are travelling by car, there are a few options available near the main venue. In most main streets around the venue, parking regulations are in place from 8.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday, and 8.30am to 1.30pm Saturdays. You will find it difficult to find a parking space on Upper street, but side streets will be much easier with Pay and Display parking options on a number of streets nearby. Check the Parkopedia page for public and parking spaces or the official Islington parking page to find out costs and spaces available.
If you arrive with a taxi ask the driver to drop you next to the Shell petrol station on Upper street in Angel. With the petrol station to your left, walk for about 30 seconds before you will see the arch ‘Unity’ where most of the activities of the festival are happening.
Ask your driver to take you to St Mary’s Church on Upper Street. The Garden room is behind the flower shop (and not in the main church hall).
Yes. We will have shops selling both tango shoes and tango clothes for ladies and gentlemen. Take a look at our SHOP page for details.
