Every week, you’ll find on our blog class notes and a summary video from our Wednesday and Sunday tango group classes.

These video and notes are meant to help our students remember what they’ve done in class.

Dimension: Interactions - Theme: Sacada II

In this class, we saw a couple of more adventurous sacadas, including a sacada producing a high boleo and a sacada from the follower - really cute, it's one of favourite sacadas!

Summary video

Beginners & improvers: “High flying” sacada from backward ocho

Top tips

  • Leaders: To make your partner step to your side without you stepping, you need to dissociate sharply to the right, keeping the left shoulder as still as possible and moving the right shoulder as far away as possible from your partner.
  • Followers: In the back step before the sacada, you should aim to step next to your partner, not away from him.

Intermediates: Ladies’ sacada

Top tips

  • Leaders: Lead the front cross by gently shifting your axis outwards, to the left and then back towards yourself. Imagine that your torso should “mime” the movement of the follower’s leg.
  • Followers: At the parada, just step normally, don’t try and establish contact with his leg. The sacada is created from the right leg after the lateral cross.

See you soon on the dancefloor,
